Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as an journalist for over 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters, as well as areas of war. Curry wasn't able to attend one school in more than two years since her family was constantly moving. She attended schools in Alameda, San Diego and Virginia. Ashland was her final high school. She paved her way for success in her career when she began her career in broadcasting as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first female news reporter for the station, at 22. In the following years, she moved into the role of anchor reporter and anchor for KGW which is an NBC affiliate station in Portland. Her return to Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. She was awarded the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
